Boarding Setup

Configure kennels, enable boarding, and manage reservations.

📝 Overview

This guide walks you through creating a Boarding service, setting up rooms/kennels with capacity, and booking a boarding stay from Boarding View in the Appointment Book. Boarding must be enabled on your account; to add it reach out to your sales representative or email [email protected]

⚠️ Please Note:

You must use the Cloud website to set up and use this feature as it is not available in the mobile app


🐾 Create a Boarding Service

Create a service specifically categorized for boarding appointments.

  1. Click the Services icon.

  2. Press the + icon in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Enter a Name for the service.

  4. Select Service Type: Boarding.

  5. Enter or select a Service Category.

  6. Enter a default Price for the service.

  7. Under Resource, select Rooms for this service.

    • If you do not have rooms created yet, follow the steps in Creating Kennels below.

  8. Click Save to finish creating your boarding service.


🏠 Create Kennels

Set up kennel resources in the software to use for boarding appointments.

  1. Log in to the DaySmart Pet software.

  2. Click More, then select Resources.

  3. Click the + icon in the bottom-right corner.

  4. On the Create Resource screen:

    • Set Resource Type to Kennel.

    • Enter the Name of the kennel.

  5. To add multiple kennels under one group, click Add Kennel below the Kennel Count section.

  6. Scroll to the Service section and link the kennel to a service:

    • Use the search bar to select the appropriate service.

    • You can also link kennels from the Resource section in the Services tab.

  7. Click Save to finish creating your room.


📅 Schedule a Boarding Appointment

Book a boarding appointment and customize it for one or multiple pets.

  1. Click the Appt Book icon.

  2. In the top-right corner, switch to Boarding View.

  3. Click the + icon in the bottom-right corner.

  4. Select the Drop-off & Pick-Up Date and Time for the appointment.

  5. Under Which Pet?, search for and select the Pet and Client, or click + New Client and Pet to create a new record.

  6. Under Which Service?, search for and select the Boarding Service.

  7. Click Schedule to create the appointment.

    • Or click Appt Details to add more pets, services, or to make the appointment recurring.

Do I need the Boarding Module to schedule kennel appointments?

Yes. The Boarding Module must be enabled on your account in order to use boarding-related features such as kennel setup and boarding view in the Appointment Book.

Why don’t I see any kennels when I switch to Boarding View?

This usually means no kennels or services have been created or linked. Be sure to follow the steps in Create Kennels and Create a Boarding Service to make them appear.


Can I link multiple kennels to the same service?

Yes. You can link multiple kennels to a single boarding service from either the Resource screen or the Services tab under the Resource section.

Is Boarding available for Online Booking?

It is not available for Online Booking.
